Day 6

2nd leg of the l.a -> San fran drive. Again we took the longer more scenic route which was more than worth it. We had stunning weather for a nice coast drive, clocked nearly 400km today, almost too much picturesque road!

*click for larger pics*..

LH drive on the wrong side of the road, almost natural now, bit hairy on some tight cliff roads

Plenty of this, and thats exactly the same mazda 6 as ours

nice eh? plenty of land slide risk areas tho..

miles and miles and miles of this...

Famous sea lion colonies of C.A... massive, lazy and impressive mammals

Its just after breeding time with plenty of pups around

see the palace on top of the hill?..

Hearst Castle. Media tycoon's unfinished dream estate started about 70years ago? He donated it and hes surrounding land (thousands of acres) to the state and for good reason. It was filled with priceless antique arts and building materials. Its truely an amazing design and construction feat. with no expense spared whatsoever. No hollywood celebrity's mansion even compares. We didnt have the spare 3 or so hours to take the 15min shuttle bush up the hill and take the tour.

Lunch @ the small town of Big Sur

Salmon + cream cheese in fresh roll, with sweet potato fries.. no more standard fries for me!

Freeway after freeway.. freeways here are like backstreets in brisbane, and always 4+ lanes each way..
headed to san fransisco

San fransisco peak hour traffic, heading into downtown. Finding the hotel and parking the car was quiet hectic, luckily we plan on using public transport

San fran city, bay bridge.. thought it was the golden gate :/

Quick shopping trip to pick up a warmer jacket for myself. Macys, david jones/myer type store. This is their men's store, 5 levels, dwarfs the melb myer store. The womens is across the road, extra 2 levels...

Dinner time... Popular ramen noodle restaurant. Write your name on the board outside and wait about 30mins for your name to be called. Well priced and delicious

Sake to warm up for the colder san fran climate

Bedtime.
