Day 5

Finally, today was the day we ate our first BBQ ribs in the USA..!!!! But before we show the drool-worthy photos, let's step back a bit! :)

Today we said goodbye to Los Angeles... We have really enjoyed our time here, much more than we expected. LA tends not to rank too highly amongst many travelers we have spoken to; maybe because people compare it to NYC???

After checking out of the hotel, we walked 2 blocks to pick up the car. Getting out of LA was a pain!!! We must have gotten lost a handful of times. And yes, this equalled to bickering between Jean and I. But happy to say, we are still together after the experience!

After more than fours hours on the road and a number of pit stops to take in the views and snap some photos, we finally arrived at Pismo Beach! The area was amazing. The hotel had amazing views of the ocean. It had one heated pool and three jacuzzis!!! Unfortunately, it was so windy that we didnt want to risk getting sick! What a shame!!

Once we checked into the hotel and settled in, the next thing to do was refuel our bodies! Luckily, good food was not too far away!! We decided on this place called Mo's Steakhouse after looking at a number of restaurant brochures at the hotel!! What a good choice that was!! All this for $40.... Obviously too much food for us (again!)... The ribs were so tender (and to die for) and the garlic fries were so garlicky... Yum!!!

Finally theres a photo of Jean stuffing his face instead of me!!! After that big meal, we attempted to go for a stroll along the Pismo Beach pier, but the winds were just too much. It was nice to see people walking on the beach, everyone was really relaxed despite the freezing temperatures!!

And on the way back to the car, we walked past this little place that sold clam chowder!! Lol couldnt help myself so got us a snack for later on :) Totally amazing; and creamy!!!!!  

Tomorrow; the drive continues to San Fran.....
